New Customer Site

We’ve just launched a new customer site which is available on http://jeremynortham.net. Features particular to this site include the news slider at the top of the home page, the Forums which are implemented using SMF, and theTimeLine widget on the Bio page which seems to have many potential uses elsewhere.

The Timeline widget itself is fairly ‘raw’ so we’ve coded it up to automatically build the timeline from an SQL table, then written a native program to edit the data. It’s relatively trivial, however it does run over the net so it means that a number of people can update the timeline simultaneously fro a number of remote locations.

Changes to the database trigger a script which automatically builds a new static XML file for optimal online viewing performance.
