New Server Installation
The 13th of November saw the installation of seven new CPU's and 7Gb of RAM
Voice Over IP
We now have a dedicated VoIP telephony service running off a 64-bit multi-core Intel based processor which is capable of running up to 256 concurrent VoIP calls and 60 concurrent land-line calls. This is destined to handle our own internal phone systems, and act as a core for customer based virtual PABX systems.
Basic Services
We have increased our physical / fail-over capability with regards to email and domain name serving with the addition of another server.
NX Server
We have a new NX hosting server for people who want to try out thin client services over the Internet against a Unix host.
VPS
Virtual private servers are now becoming very usable with the advent of Xen. Unlike previous implementations such as User Mode Linux, Xen is very close to native speed, very reliable and very flexible. We now have capacity for 24 more virtual servers.
We will shortly be moving to the new release version of Zimbra (when they release it) and will be migrating to a new more powerful server at the same time. This is a twin Xeon 2Gb machine with a large Raid1 config.
