System Upgrades
Lots more memory for hungry Zope / Plone applications
June 5/6 saw a number of upgrades to core systems including a massive 16Gb memory boost and 5 new 64bit processors, (4 x Xeon and 1 x AMD) and another 500Gb of disk Storage.
We are currently in the process of shuffling around various virtual servers and mirrored storage to make the best use of these new resources. In particular it should allow us to "up" the local memory caches on the ZOPE servers and reduce ZEO overheads, which should in turn boost page rates.
Also now live is a new / dedicated ZenOSS server running the latest revision (2.2) with many new plugins which should help the tuning of Apache and MySQL services, not to mention better phone / pager notification support for system issues.
